EXTEMPORE launches its first on-site course dedicated to gynecological ultrasound in RomaniaGynecological Diagnoses: From Guideline to Practice, in partnership with Gynaia

This focused 2-day program brings together leading international experts in gynecological ultrasound and covers key and advanced areas of clinical practice. The course includes structured training in ovarian masses, endometriosis, uterine pathology, pelvic floor ultrasound, and gynecological emergencies, combining evidence-based knowledge with practical diagnostic approaches.

In partnership with Gynaia, participants have the option to register not only for the course, but also to add a 12-month membership at a reduced course-participant rate, choosing between:
  • IOTA Membership (ovarian-focused structured pathway)
  • Full Bundle Membership (IOTA + IDEA + MUSA + IETA)

The program includes an integrated 40-minute certification exam, allowing participants to obtain official IOTA-certification during the course via a dedicated application.

Day 1, May 22

The first day will feature two dedicated pre-courses focused on endometrial and myometrial pathology, combining expert lectures, live ultrasound demonstrations, and interactive Q&A sessions.


Participants will explore key topics including IETA and MUSA terminology, benign and malignant endometrial and myometrial pathology, uterine fibroids, and uterine malformations.

Day 2, May 23

The second day will feature a full scientific program dedicated to ovarian pathology and advanced gynecological ultrasound, combining expert lectures, live scanning sessions, and interactive discussions.


Topics will include IOTA terminology, classification and differential diagnosis of ovarian masses, endometriosis, borderline and malignant ovarian tumors, adnexal tumors in children and adolescents, rare ovarian cancers, and the role of artificial intelligence in ultrasound.

  • Recognize and characterize benign and malignant myometrial pathology, including fibroids and uterine malformations.
  • Apply key ultrasound principles for structured assessment of ovarian masses using IOTA terminology.
  • Improve diagnostic accuracy in differentiating benign and malignant adnexal tumors using pattern recognition, simple rules, and the ADNEX model.
  • Recognize imaging features of endometriosis, borderline ovarian tumors, and epithelial ovarian cancer.
  • Understand specific features of adnexal masses in children and adolescents, including rare ovarian tumors.
  • Explore the role and clinical potential of artificial intelligence in gynecological ultrasound practice.
